Something that hurts someone else to get something you want.

I don’t want to think about it.

Not necessarily. But it’s wrong to lie to them about it.

What are the responsibilities of a mother toward a child?
Love her, support her, listen to her, and be willing to tell her things she doesn’t want to hear, even when she won’t listen. Understand that she’s going to screw up. Forgive her.
What are the responsibilities of a father toward a child?
Honesty. Integrity. Putting your child and your family ahead of other things. Not doing things that endanger her life, or her safety. Trusting her. And not lying to her. Or did I already say that?
What are the responsibilities of a child toward a parent?
Listening. Because they may not get it right, but they are telling you because they care about you. And a lot of the time they get it right. And forgiving them when they get it wrong. Or at least trying to.

Child, I think.

That depends on what works for you.
